I provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults in San Diego CA on a one to one basis. In treatment we are able to meet and address issues that you may have. Over time a rapport is built, which allows for a safe place to explore those issues. Many clients have commented that they actually look forward to therapy, and they see it as relieving and fun. Therapy should not be a painful process but yet a process that allows a person to feel better about themselves and happy.
Why do people seek treatment? People seek treatment for many reasons. Often people have reach a point that they no longer want to suffer. For them therapy is the first line of treatment of getting their life back on track. Others may seek treatment to make interpersonal changes, get help with finding harmony in their personal life or relationships.
Making changes in our lives takes time, just as making physical changes like losing weight takes time. However, by using research-based therapy techniques with my clients, you will be surprised how quickly positive results will begin to show themselves. Once you start making these cognitive changes you will notice a change in certain behaviors, feelings, thoughts and moods. Research indicates that by practicing new ways of thinking and acting we can actually transform our lives for the better. When changes occur, we can focus on achieving the important goals we set for ourselves. With health changes, comes a since of self-empowerment and self-improvement which ultimately leads to happiness.
Individual therapy can assist you with finding the right balance and solutions. Even the most chronic problems have periods or times when the difficulties do not occur or are less intense. By studying these times when problems are less severe or even absent, we discovered that people do many positive things that they are not fully aware of. By bringing small successes into awareness and repeating the successful things they do when the problem is less severe, people improve their lives and become more confident about themselves.
